Emirati One: A Masterpiece in Luxury Car Showrooms

Marwan Mrad's Design Salutes Fine Craftsmanship and Pays Tribute to World-Class Heritage

Marwan Mrad's inspiration for the project was to create a space that salutes fine craftsmanship and pays tribute to world-class heritage. The showroom is designed to amaze visitors with an extraordinary display of vehicles, yet there is a lot more to see. The design is an homage to the intricate details that have defined automotive design throughout the years.

The unique properties of Emirati One make it stand out from other showrooms. It showcases rare, special, and one-of-a-kind vehicles that need no description to amaze potential owners. The showroom is an interactive hub itself, allowing visitors to enjoy a delicious coffee in the barista lounge on the ground floor while watching the view of Burj Khalifa and a collection of the rarest cars worldwide.

The realization of the design was a complex process. The entrance was chosen on the axe facing Burj Khalifa, with VIP offices designed in the mezzanine floor, lounges overlooking the ground floor, and glass used for partitions allowing natural light to get in. The use of white Korean material on the main entrance and grey concrete flooring gives a nice first impression, while Sahara Noir marble is used for floors and some office walls.

The showroom is a total of 997 sqm divided into two floors. The ground floor is 654 sqm, and the mezzanine floor is 343 sqm. The design and concepts were created in April 2021 in Dubai, with execution currently in progress. The showroom is located in the Burj Vista tower, in a strategic location on the Boulevard, facing Burj Khalifa in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The project faced several challenges, including the showroom being part of a curvy tower with an irregular plan shape and Dubai regulations forbidding changes to the tower exteriors. However, these obstacles were overcome by focusing on the central part of the showroom and using exterior sizes for car distribution, where each window accommodates one car. Despite the client having many cars to be displayed, the team found the perfect distribution while making sure all cars are visible from all sides.

Emirati One was awarded the Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2022. This prestigious award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom. They are venerated products and bright ideas that advance art, science, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
